Intention is the creative power behind all things.
Anything and everything you do starts with an intention to do so. Things like taking a walk, reading a book, or eating dinner, those are all decisions that sprouted from your intentions. We are literally setting intentions all of the time and in many ways, we are setting intentions without even knowing it.
According to chopra.com,
Everything that happens in the universe begins with intention.
Setting intentions is how we make things happen and how we get things done. But there are also times when we set intentions and never follow thru with them. And the thing about intentions is they only work if you let them and that’s a fact!
Imagine how different your life would be if you actually did all the things you said you were gonna do. Oh, the possibilities! Let’s put an end to that, OK?
There’s no better time than now to set some intentions that you can actually stick too. So let’s set some intentions on purpose, shall we?
The process of setting intentions is like setting goals but on a more spiritual level. You don’t just write some goals down and see if they happen, with intention setting, you do the inner work to make it happen.

Step 1. Set the intention
Example “ I intend to lose 3 pounds this month.”
Step 2. Create space for this intention
In order to create space here, you need to remove something that will stop you from making this a reality. For this example, cleaning out your pantry of sweets and treats might be a good place to start.
Step 3. Believe that you can make this happen
The best way to start believing is to tune into the feeling of knowing you are 3 pounds lighter. You can think to yourself: “I lose weight easily and I am going to feel awesome when it happens.”
Then visualize and feel this thought over and over. Take 5 minutes out of your day and feel that feeling in your bones. You’re 3 pounds lighter, you fit into your skinny jeans, and you look sexy AF!
Step 4. Surrender and trust the process
At this point, you have let go of any doubt that losing those 3 pounds will happen. Release all your doubt and release your attachment to it. If it doesn’t happen, that’s ok, you just have to try harder next month.
Step 5. Take action!
Don’t just do nothing! Instead, do your workouts, eat better, cut out bad foods, and sweat your bum off. Meet your intentions half way and nothing will stop you from reaching your goals.
Conclusion
You can use this process with pretty much anything you’d like to accomplish in your life. Trust me it works, but only if you do too.
This month I’m setting an intention to start budgeting my finances. I dread budgeting but even saying that is hindering my intention to make it happen. Do you see how that works? Don’t self-sabotage before you even get started!
