What is the Law of Attraction?
The law of attraction is a universal law that says you can have anything you desire as long as you are a vibrational match for it.
In order to become a vibrational match for what you desire, you must first set your mind on that of what you want, think about it over and over WHILE FEELING GOOD, and by the law of attraction, it will come to you.
Let’s be real, this probably goes against everything you were taught. We can’t have everything we want, that’s not how life works…right? WRONG! We have been operating under the law of attraction our whole lives.
Some of you have known how to use the law of attraction. But most of you have no clue about this universal law and how powerful it is.
Let me break this down for you…
Law of Attraction Basics
We are all pure vibrating energy and what we want is also pure vibrating energy. The law of attraction uses that vibrating energy, also called vibrational frequencies, to make things happen for us.
Under the law of attraction, the vibrations from our energy field do all the work for us. All vibrations from our energetic field are either high, low, or somewhere in between.
Positive energy is considered high vibration and negative energy is considered low vibration. This is where the terms “high vibe” or “good vibes only” come from. It’s not just a saying, it’s actually science!
Like Attracts Like
The basis of the law of attraction is like attracts like. But since we are not aware of the law of attraction and how it works, we often use its power against us and instead attract more of what we don’t want.
The key here is that whatever frequency you are vibrating at, low or high, you are attracting that same vibration to you. It’s like a boomerang effect. You send vibes out, positive or negative, and they will come right back to you.
If you are feeling sad and angry you are vibrating at a very low level and because like attracts like, the universe is going to match you with that same vibration in return. This will keep you in that negative state of mind AND keep you further from the things you want.
On the other hand, when you are feeling good you are in vibrational alignment with what you want and you become a magnet for what you desire. In other words, it’s easier for the universe to deliver your desires when you are positive and happy.
This is why staying in a positive mindset should always be at the top of your priority list.
Energy flows where attention goes
As you flow your energy towards that of what you want, that energy creates a pull just like a magnet, and what you want starts to make its way towards you.
For example, you decide you want the newest iPhone and you just have to have it. At that point, your energy is now flowing towards that new iPhone. What you don’t know is that the law of attraction is now getting to work for you as well.
The longer you keep your energy on getting that new iPhone, the more the law of attraction is working for you. Eventually, that new iPhone will be yours as long as you keep your energy focused on it. This is how the law of attraction works, every single time.
Why the Law of Attraction Fails
The law of attraction can fail at times but that doesn’t mean that the law of attraction isn’t working. It only means that there are some problems that need a little tweaking.
Raising your vibrational frequency
The first problem that causes the law of attraction to not work is when we vibrate on low vibe levels and fail to raise our vibration. Remember that in order for the law of attraction to work for you, you have to be a vibrational match for what you want.
If you want more love, happiness, and positivity in your life, you need to raise your vibrational level to match that so you can receive it in return. Basically, you need to feel happy and positive first, then the universe will reward you with those same experiences.
You cannot vibrate on a low level (sadness, anger, frustration) and expect high vibe (positive, happy,) experiences to come to you in return. It doesn’t work that way. You will always be disappointed.

Doubts shift your vibrational frequency
Another problem arises when you add DOUBT to the mix.
When you focus on what you want, you activate a vibration towards it. But the moment you start to doubt that you can have what you want, you shift your vibration to not having it. Then the law of attraction ends up giving you more of not having it. Like attracts like!
It gets a little tricky because your doubts can sometimes be so subtle that you don’t even realize you’re doing it.
“I want more money”
This is your DESIRE.
“I don’t want to be broke anymore more”
This is your DOUBT that you can have more money.
“I want to be healthy”
This is your DESIRE.
“I’m tired of being sick”
This is your DOUBT that you can be healthy.
“I want to be skinny”
This is your DESIRE.
“I don’t want to be fat anymore”
This is your DOUBT that you can be skinny.
These are all examples of subtle doubts that we participate in all day long without even realizing it. In order for the law of attraction to work for you, you have to drop the doubt and trust that the universe has your back and is working for you without a shadow of a doubt.
Ask, Believe, Receive
Have you ever heard the expression “Ask, Believe, Receive?” This is the law of attraction in its simplest form.
It all starts with asking. Asking is a simple thing we often forget to do. We just assume that we will get what we want without asking the universe for it. But when you start to ask for what you want, you set the wheels in motion and the universe will get to work on trying to make that happen for you.
The more you ask, the more you will receive. PERIOD. But you cannot forget the key ingredient to this formula…BELIEVE.
You have to believe wholeheartedly that you will receive what it is that you want. So much so that you can already feel that feeling of having it. You need to tap into the feeling of having what you want as if you already have it.
Here’s what spiritual teacher and entrepreneur, Gabby Bernstein, says about this part of the process in her article How to Get What You Want:
“This is the key to manifesting: to be in the joy and magnitude of what it is you’re putting out and creating and calling forth. When you dwell in that beautiful energy, you attract what you desire and manifesting becomes fun and effortless.”
If you skip the part of believing like we most often do, then the law of attraction will not work for you and you will not receive what you want. The method of Ask, Believe, Receive, also known as manifesting, never fails, only the person does by skipping one of the steps.
How To Use The Law Of Attraction
Step 1. Get clear on the things you want.
What does your heart truly desire? Don’t be afraid to really shoot for the stars here. List everything from all parts of your life including love, money, relationships, career, lifestyle, health, etc.
Step 2. Create space for new things and ideas that support your desires to come into your life.
Declutter yourself physically and emotionally. Got a messy home? Clean and organize. Got a lot of emotional baggage? Honor your wounds. Feel it to heal it, forgive, and let go.
Step 3. Make positivity your top priority.
When you are in a positive mindset you open yourself up to receiving. When you are in a negative mindset, you are blocking the receiving. Choose to be positive now. Try some positive affirmations or a self-care routine to help you stay in this mindset. You can also recall memories that put you in a happy state of mind.
Step 4. Ignite your imagination.
You may not remember what using your imagination feels like but just start by thinking about what you’d like to have come into your life. When you think about it, you’re imagining. When you’re imagining, you are presenting your wants to the universe.
Step 5. Feel all the feels.
Close your eyes and visualize your life with all the things you want inside of it. Allow yourself to feel how you would feel if you had what you want right here and right now. Collapse your timeline and call the future you, who has everything she wants into the present moment.
Step 6. Remove all doubt from your desires.
When you focus on what you want, you then activate a vibration towards it and what you want starts to make its way toward you. The moment you start to doubt that it could be yours, you shift your vibration towards not having it and in return, you get more of not having it. Remember, like attracts like!
Step 7. Release any attachment you have to the things you want.
Trust that the universe has your back and will give you what you want in divine timing or you will get something even better.
Step 8. Take aligned action.
Don’t just do nothing! Meet the universe halfway by taking action that might get you closer to your desires. Watch for signs and synchronicities. That’s the universe guiding you right to what you want!
Step 9. Remain open to receiving, be happy now, and live in gratitude.
Like attracts like. Live and breathe what you want to be returned back to you.
Step 10. Get into the practice of manifesting often.
Practice the law of attraction every day. Five minutes a day is a good place to start. The more you focus on what you want, the stronger the vibration to it becomes. Then by the Law of Attraction, it will come to you like a magnet.
The law of attraction works and manifesting what you want through this law is possible. Be mindful of your doubts and keep your energy positive. Remember to ask the universe for what you want, believe that you are worthy, then like magic your dream life will become your reality.
