Does manifesting money really work?? Hey my money maker friends! Today let’s dig deep into a concept that has had a LOT of exposure lately, but ultimately has created a lot of frustration and confusion in those people who try to apply their learnings.
The topic is, of course, Money Manifestation.
See, back when “The Secret” came out, the term “Manifestation” became a mainstream word (and thank god for the Secret!). But manifestation wasn’t fully explained accurately in this movie, and still, the concept remained “woo-woo” for many people. So, let’s clarify and shake things up a bit, shall we?
Manifesting money even when your dead broke is possible.
First, before I dig into how we CAN manifest money , I want to share with you my own personal journey to manifesting money AND my current (amazing) life.
From 2010 to 2014, I worked in corporate America in NYC, working 60+ hours a week and making JUST over 6-figures. I was pretty miserable, but I thought “that’s just what you do after you graduate college!” In December 2014, my mom passed away after a 7 month battle with stage 4 cancer. I was 27 at the time. The entire experience completely shifted my life, my goals, and ultimately made me want to quit and try out the “entrepreneur life.”
In 2015, I quit my job, sold all my stuff, and moved to Latin America (Colombia) to learn Spanish and fulfill my passion of being an entrepreneur. I traveled and brainstormed on my “eat pray love” adventure from 2015 to 2016 which led me to starting my first business, a cricket protein bar company, while in Costa Rica.
In May 2016, I moved to Los Angeles to get my business off the ground. To support my life and business expenses, I did consulting work for $25/hour and was a bartender on the weekends, bartending is a LOT less glamorous than it seems btw. For 6 months, I slept in my best friends bed because I couldn’t afford rent. In December 2017, after spending over $40k on my business, I decided to PIVOT. It was a REALLY hard decision, but I realized that my passion wasn’t in the food industry so I shut down my cricket protein bar business and immediately started up my financial planning business with my best friend, Ashley.
Without any money from family or friends, I built up my business from 2017 to 2019, working really hard and building up my client base. In 2019, I hit my income goal of $250k. In September 2020, I purchased my first multi-unit investment property that brings in $50k/year in revenue. At that point I decided to start up a coaching and online course business. I quickly gathered up 13 one-on-one coaching clients, and began selling my signature online program The Money Course.
Now, present day, I run two, 6-figure businesses (financial planning and coaching), own an investment property, and set a goal of $1m in revenue.
So now that you know a bit more about me, you know I’m pretty well versed on money, making money, and teaching other people about manifesting money.

How does manifesting work?
Manifestation is the co-creative process between you and the universe where you turn your thoughts, desires, and subconscious beliefs into TANGIBLE real world things (i.e. money, cars, a partner, a house, etc.). But how does Manifestation ACTUALLY work? There are a bunch of explanations, but here’s the most simplified answer:
Our actions create our realities and most of our actions are driven by our subconscious minds. Our subconscious minds are made up of our internal belief systems and our belief system, at its core, is simply a thought you’ve continue to think (there are no universal “truths”, just beliefs).
Therefore….
The thoughts we think > create our belief systems > which then creates our subconscious mind > which then influences our actions > which then creates our realities.

What manifesting money is not
See, money manifestation has gotten a pretty bad rap but here’s what manifestation is NOT:
- think positively and money will just show up
- do a vision board and the universe will give it to you, willy nilly
- no strategy is needed, just visualize it!
- tactics are irrelevant. Just want it and it’ll show up
- manifestation is “magic”. It’s based on chance, crystals, rocks, or other voodoo magic
Instead, here’s what manifestation ACTUALLY is:
- understanding what you want, believing you can have it, and taking action in alignment with that version of yourself
- getting into a state of connected “flow”, working, and acting on inspiration
- practicing being in the receptive mode for money, ideas, and opportunities
- releasing rigidity, promoting creativity, and rewriting stories that say things must work in a specific way
The secret to manifesting money in 5 simple steps
So, if you believe in the above, and understand that you DO create your own reality, the question is, how do you then manifest the money, husband, wife, partner, car, or house that you truly want?

- Step 1: Decide on what it is you want. Specificity is key here.
- Step 2: Visualize it, and pair this with elevated emotions like gratitude, love, joy
- Step 3: Feel the feelings of already having what it is you want
- Step 4: Take inspired action
- Step 5: Hold the faith! Believe it’s coming, even when it doesn’t feel possible.
Learning how to manifest money
Money manifestation isn’t about money randomly showing up in your bank so you can be happy. It’s about the joy that we feel when we have the freedom, passion, and inspiration to strive for more money. Nelson Mandela once said “money doesn’t bring happiness. The freedom to make it, does.”
