While you were stuck at home in quarantine scrolling on your phone, it’s highly likely you came across manifestation for the very first time then quickly found yourself hitting up the Google like “what (the heck) is manifestation?!?.” And now you’re here, WELCOME MY FRIEND!!
I’m excited to have you and to be able to share the magic that is manifestation with you. As a long time manifestor myself, I can tell you that you are in for a treat. So grab your journal, your favorite beverage and lets dive into it!
What is manifestation and why do people do it?
Manifestation, or the practice of manifesting, is the ability to create your reality using the power of your mind. It is materializing your thoughts and desires into tangible things you can touch and feel or experience. Those who practice manifesting are doing it because they are highly aware that they are in control of the conscious creation of their life.
Now you might be asking yourself, what does manifestation really mean? And to that I say this:
It means that you can create what ever life you desire and manifestation is the vehicle that gets you there.
That might sound unbelievable to you now and I totally get it but keep on reading and you’ll see that it really is possible!
Does manifesting really work?
Although they are many naysayers and nonbelievers of the practice, I can tell you that manifesting is real and yes, it does work! If you do a quick google search on “is manifesting real” you’ll find thousands of testimonials from people who have experienced their manifestations coming to fruition and can attest to the power behind manifesting. Not to mention the 100s of books written about the subject throughout the years.
One big reason why manifesting doesn’t seem to work for the nonbelievers is that they don’t believe it works. Manifestation does works but having faith in the process is a vital step to making it happen. More on this later…
What is an example of manifestation?
Prepare to have your mind blow because this part is going to solidify your belief in manifestation because the truth is that you’ve actually been manifesting your whole life, you just didn’t know it! I’ve already told you that manifesting is creating your reality using the power of your thoughts, now let me explain what that can look like for you.
In its simplest form, creating your reality with your thoughts and desires can look like waking up with a craving for pancakes then heading to the kitchen and making some or wanting to see a movie premier and heading to the movies to actually see it. By doing these things you’ve now manifested your thoughts into your reality.
Next level manifesting can be like thinking of a song then hearing it on the radio or having a good friend on your mind then they suddenly call you. Just think about it, how many times have you said “hey I was literally just thinking about you!“? That’s manifestation in action!
And here’s where it gets really magical, you could be thinking about money and how you need an extra $500 and then all of sudden an unexpected check for that exact amount lands in your mailbox. Yes it can be as simple as that.
Does that sound far fetched? Well have you ever had something work out for you against all odds, even when you thought there was no possibility that it could? That’s because manifesting worked for you but if you need more proof lets talk science, because yes manifesting can be scientifically proven!
What is the science behind manifestation?
Everything in the universe is energy vibrating at different frequencies. This includes our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. In order to understand this you must also understand the law of attraction which is one of the 12 spiritual laws of the universe that says that like vibrations attract like vibrations.
The Law Of Attraction tells us that negative thoughts and feelings attract negative things and positive thoughts and feelings attract positive things.
This is why when you wake up in a terrible mood your day will continue pretty terribly until you can raise the vibration of your consciousness and start attracting things and experiences that make you feel better.
Picture waking up late so you’re tense and pist off, a very low negative vibration. Then you speed to work, get a speeding ticket, spill coffee on your shirt, get yelled at by your boss, and it just continues to be one shitty day.
Your negative vibration is like a domino effect because it is attracting more negative vibrations your way through your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
Manifestation and the law of attraction, while they are not the same thing, they go hand in hand and work together to bring your desires into your reality. The LOA gives us the concepts we need to apply to what we want to manifest and get the process going. Speaking of getting things going, its time I give you the steps on how this whole manifestation thing works. Let’s go!
How to manifest anything you want
- Get clarity on what you actually want!
This step is so important because if you don’t know what you want the universe cannot deliver it to you. Here’s a simple exercise that will help you get clarity over what you desire:
- Make a list of all the situations, circumstances, and things you no longer want in your life.
- Then go back to the top of your list and flip each one with what you do want.
- Lastly, get as specific as you can with each one using things like exact time frames, dollar amounts, etc. And now you have a full list of all the things you want!
2. Think the right thoughts
While I’d love to sit here and say “just think happy thoughts” I know wholeheartedly its not that easy. The mind can be pretty harsh and its because of all the bullshit and pain we have been through in life. But I am gonna give you a quick lesson on how powerful your thoughts really are.
Your thoughts trigger your emotions which trigger your words then ultimately your actions. These are all things that are vital to the manifestation process so you must make sure you’re thinking the right thoughts that will attract the right things towards you. This means focusing your thoughts on the positive aspects of your desires.
It’s highly likely that you may need to retrain your brain to focus on the right thoughts. You can do that by using positive affirmations, meditations, and focusing on self development.
3. Feel into your desires
Behind every desire you have there is a feeling you want to satisfy and those are the feelings that will bring your manifestations to you with lightning speed. But the problem lies in your backwards thinking. This is the idea that you can’t satisfy the feelings you want until the desire is manifested. But that is simply not true.
You can actually call in any feeling you want to have at any given time and during the manifestation process that is what you must do.
Here’s how to do it:
Everyday for at least 5 minutes sit down and focus on the feelings you’ll have when your desires are manifested. Do this and watch how fast they show up for you!
4. Ditch your doubt
Doubting that manifestation works will stop the process dead in its tracks. If you’re serious about manifesting your desires you must ditch that doubt! Here’s why:
When you get clear on what you want (step 1) and start focusing on it (step 2 & 3), the universe gets busy creating a path for you to receive it. But the moment you start to doubt that you can actually have it or think that is isn’t possible, a shift happens, the path changes and now all of a sudden you’re attracting more of not having what you want!
You may want the desire very badly but your doubt is blocking it from coming to you. The Universe needs certainty and total belief in yourself AND the manifestation process to make it happen!
5. Take aligned action
Taking aligned action comes from trusting your intuition (aka your gut feelings) and following the signs and opportunities that show up for you. Pay attention and you’ll notice that as you begin to become a match for what you want (by following the previous steps), opportunities will start to appear for you that will put you on the path that will lead you straight towards your desires.
This is when it’s time to jump into action which might mean getting out of your comfort zone so make sure you’re prepared for whatever that may mean!
6. Have faith & gratitude
Faith makes everything possible and we all have faith to some degree. But I’m not talking about religious stuff here, I’m talking about the part of us that dares to believe in the unseen and the unproven. This is the type of faith you need when you’re actively trying to manifest something because this is what will keep you moving forward when your fears and doubts show up and try to stop you from getting what you want.
Gratitude has the power to instantly raise your vibration and make you a match for what you desire. The more gratitude you give the more you will receive PERIOD.
